Swim Wales (Formerly Welsh Amateur Swimming Association) is in the forefront in the introduction of Child Protection policies. Our Club fully supports the principal of all adults with significant access to children - coaches, officials and volunteers to be CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) checked prior to them working with any of our under 18 members.
City of Cardiff Swimming Club’s Child Protection Officer is Mrs Anne Griffiths.
Anne has worked for the NHS for over 20 years. She has a working knowledge of key legislation and procedural guidance underpinning safeguarding children. She is also a qualified swimming teacher and coaches with several of the squads. She is usually on poolside at Cardiff International Pool most Monday evenings
Anne’s role as an Officer of the Club is to provide advice and guidance to all members and Officers of the Club in all matters relating to the safety and welfare of the young person; also acting as a filter with the various Governing Bodies, Advisory Groups and Associations, relating to all matters of Child Protection & Welfare.
Should any member require advice, guidance or help in any way, they may speak to Anne in complete confidence, according to the nature of the enquiry.
