Swim Wales (Formerly Welsh Amateur Swimming Association) is in the forefront in the introduction of Child Protection policies. Our Club fully supports the principal of all adults with significant access to children - coaches, officials and volunteers to be CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) checked prior to them working with any of our under 18 members.
City of Cardiff Swimming Club’s Child Protection Officers are Fran Flint and Rhiannon Bennett
Fran
works within the childcare sector, and is experienced in all aspects of child welfare and child protection She has a good working knowledge of current legislation regarding safeguarding children. She has 4 children, 2 of whom swim and /or coach with the club.
Rhiannon works
as the Office Manager of the Vale Social Work Department based at Llandough Hospital and has one daughter swimming with the club.
Both Fran and Rhiannon are qualified technical officials, and have children swimming with the club.
Their roles as Officers of the Club are to provide advice and guidance to all members and Officers of the Club in all matters relating to the safety and welfare of the young person; also acting as a filter with the various Governing Bodies, Advisory Groups and Associations, relating to all matters of Child Protection & Welfare.
Should any member require advice, guidance or help in any way, they may speak to Fran and/or Rhiannon in complete confidence, according to the nature of the enquiry.
